Q1. Sluggish lymphatic system can contribute to bloating, brain fog and meh-feeling so many women experience. How can lymphatic drainage help busy women and mums feel more like themselves again? How does it work?

Rebecca:

Lymphatic drainage is like giving your body a reset. It helps flush out excess fluids, toxins, and waste that make you feel heavy and fatigued. When your lymphatic system is working efficiently, you’ll notice better digestion, reduced bloating, your mind is clearer... For busy moms, it’s a game-changer because it naturally boosts energy levels and reduces that feeling of being weighed down. Even small daily habits like deep breathing, a good morning routine, and simple massage techniques can make a huge difference!

Q2: What are the key areas of the body to focus on when supporting lymphatic drainage?

Rebecca:

The lymphatic system is all connected, so it is important to take care of it as a whole. It may sound like a lot, but small daily habits help keep the system flowing naturallyWhen it comes to massage, people usually focus more on the areas where they struggle the most. For example, someone with poor digestion will spend more time working on the gut area. Someone with really swollen feet will focus more on the lower limbs. But even if you focus on specific areas, it is still important to support the entire system so everything drains properly.

Q3: Many of your celebrity clients have access to high-end wellness treatments. If someone only has five minutes, what’s the most effective thing they can do for their lymphatic health beyond hydration and movement?

Rebecca:

The best thing you can do is develop simple, consistent routines that support your lymphatic system every single day. It does not have to be complicated. In fact, small, daily habits will make the biggest difference over time. One of my favorite routines that I always share with my clients includes only a few simple steps:

Rebecca Faria's Recommended Morning Routine

1. Wake Up With The Sun

Try to wake up by 8 AM, if possible. This is when we naturally have a cortisol peak, which helps give us energy for the day. Syncing your body with its natural rhythm will help you feel more alert and balanced.

2. Scrape Your Tongue

While we sleep, our bodies detoxify, and a layer of toxins builds up on the tongue. If you do not remove it, you end up swallowing those toxins back. Using a tongue scraper first thing in the morning after brushing your teeth helps clear out this buildup before you drink or eat anything.

3. Drink a Big Glass of Room Temperature Water

Hydration is key for the lymphatic system. Drinking water first thing in the morning helps flush out toxins, kickstart digestion, and prepare your stomach for food. Room temperature water is gentler on the body compared to cold water.

4. Drink Herbal Tea

Before reaching for coffee, try drinking an herbal tea that supports detoxification and lymphatic flow. My Lymphatic Cleanse Tea, for example, is made with ingredients that help reduce bloating, improve digestion, and keep the lymphatic system moving. This is also gentler on your stomach in the morning [than coffee].

5. Get Morning Sunlight

Looking towards natural light in the morning helps regulate your body’s internal clock. It suppresses melatonin and boosts serotonin, helping you feel more awake and balanced throughout the day. Sunlight is also necessary for vitamin D production, which plays a big role in hormone regulation and immune function, which are directly connected to the lymphatic system.

A routine like this does not take much time, but when done consistently, it makes a huge difference. And just like a good morning routine, having a night routine is just as important.

For the evening, focus on:
  • Taking a warm shower to relax the body and improve circulation.
  • Putting your legs up the wall for a few minutes to send fluid back toward your body’s natural drainage points, reducing swelling.
  • Avoiding bright screens and using red light bulbs instead of regular ones to help with melatonin production and better sleep.  [Editors's addition - Our Founder Frida uses these red lights in her own home, find them here.]
  • Winding down with calming activities like reading, journaling, or even a quick self-lymphatic massage.
  • Drinking a nighttime herbal tea with relaxing ingredients like chamomile to help with sleep quality.

By sticking to a few simple habits in the morning and at night, you will start to feel the benefits within days. It is not about doing things perfectly. It is about being consistent. These routines help your lymphatic system function better, making you feel lighter, less bloated, and more energized every day.

Q4: Is it safe to do lymphatic drainage at home? What are the key drainage points we should focus on?

Rebecca:

Yes, you can absolutely do lymphatic drainage at home, and you should! The key drainage points to focus on are the clavicles, underarms, groin, and behind the knees. These are like the body's main "drains" where fluid gets filtered. But it’s important to see the lymphatic system as a whole.

Think of it [lymphatics] like a sink in your kitchen: if the pipes are clogged with buildup, water won’t drain properly. If you only clear one section, the rest will still be blocked. That’s why full-body lymphatic health is so important.

Q5: What are your top DIY lymphatic drainage techniques for a beginner that create the most impact?

Rebecca:

If you wake up feeling puffy or swollen [sign of slow lymphatic system], a quick facial lymphatic followed by facial cupping, a cup of my lymphatic cleanse tea, and a few minutes of walking.

Here's a couple of my favourites:

Q6: As a mum yourself, how has your personal wellness routine evolved since having kids?

Rebecca:

I’ve learned to simplify! I prioritize what truly makes a difference: daily movement, even if it’s for a few minutes only, mindful eating, and keeping my lymphatic system flowing. I’ve embraced the idea that wellness doesn’t have to be all or nothingSome days, it’s a full routine while other days it’s just a few deep breaths and a quick self-lymphatic before bed. I want to be able to set a good example for my kids and show them that in order to achieve our goals we don’t need to be perfect, we just need to be consistent.

Q7: You’ve spoken before about lymphatic health being a full-body approach, not just massage. What’s one habit that’s had the biggest impact on your energy and vitality as a working mum?

Rebecca:

To be honest there wasn’t just one habit, it was a mix of small things I did every day that helped me feel more stable. As a working mom, it’s easy to feel all over the place, especially when sleep is unpredictable and the days feel nonstop. My morning and night routines became my anchors. Getting sunlight first thing, drinking my tea, taking a hot shower before bed… these little moments helped me reset, recharge, and show up as my best self.

Q8: Balance can sometimes feel like a fleeting concept when juggling multiple roles. What’s one mindset shift, quote, or resource that has helped you show up as your best self at home and at your clinic?

Rebecca:

For me, the biggest mindset shift was realizing that balance doesn’t mean giving equal energy to everything all the time, it means being fully present in whatever I’m doing. Whether I’m with my kids or at the spa, I try to be all in, instead of feeling guilty about where I’m not. I realized I don’t have to do everything at once, just give my best to the moment I’m in.

Q9: You’re constantly helping others feel their best—what’s one thing you do for yourself that has nothing to do with wellness, but makes you feel good?

 Rebecca:

Watching true crime shows. They freak me out but I can’t stop watching them haha.

Q10: A lot of women put themselves last. What’s one mindset shift that helped you prioritize your well-being without guilt?

Rebecca:

I remind myself that taking care of myself isn’t selfish, it’s necessary. When I feel good, I can be a better mom, a better partner, and a better practitioner. Self-care isn’t a luxury, it’s the foundation for everything else in life.
